Pony Club’s Mission: When Your Child Becomes Horse Crazy, Pony Club Can Help Them Reach Their True, Equestrian Potential
With Over 600 Pony Club Locations, Nationwide, Pony Clubs Are The Perfect Option For Children Who Adore and Wish To Learn About Ponies.
Pony Club fosters superb equestrians, extraordinary citizens and lifelong friendships. You don’t need a horse, just a love for them, with more than 600 clubs and riding centers across the country, there’s a good chance we’re near you!
In Pony Club, you’ll learn how to handle and work around your horse with safety and self-reliance. Pony Club played an integral part in the development of the safety helmets worn in equestrian sports today. Helmets are required for all members. Safety checks before riding is also a Pony Club Ïbest practice to ensure that tack is in good condition and properly adjusted.
Regardless of age, everyone begins in Pony Club as an Ïunrated member. As you learn and develop at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to progress through the Pony Club certification system. Each level requires an increasing depth of knowledge and skills. At the C-3 level, members may choose to continue with the traditional tract or specialize in Show Jumping or Dressage. An A certification will distinguish you as an accomplished, professional-level horseman. (Ratings actually go from D levels up to A, to see the breakdown check out this link which further explains each level:)
Pony Club teaches a solid foundation of correct riding based on timeless classical riding principles. You will learn good balance and communication-developing into a thinking and effective rider, always with your horse’s best interest at heart. Pony Club members become confident and comfortable riding not only in the arena, but in the open.
Good horsemanship extends far beyond skills in the saddle. In Pony Club, you will learn an impressive depth of knowledge in equine behavior and training, health and fitness, nutrition and veterinary care. You’ll learn about tack and equipment and understand their correct uses and maintenance. Pony Club members also learn strong business skills through stable management-scheduling, record keeping, communicating and interacting with professionals in the equine industry.
These interactions with industry professionals are what set Pony Club apart both as an organization teaching quality horse care and an organization supported by the equine industry. These partnerships are fostered by our national sponsors. Triple Crown Nutrition has partnered with Pony Club as a Corporate Sponsor for more than 10 years. Through the knowledgeable staff at Triple Crown Nutrition, Pony Club members have received educational information about the nutritional needs of all horses through articles, workshops and their presence at our Trade Fair Events.
